Do you understand what challenges exist in a data-driven, algorithm-governed society? ChatGPT and similar AI applications have sparked a lot of enthusiasm and curiosity in people, but also many questions and concerns.

In the Generation AI project funded by the Strategic Research Council (SRC), we are opening the black box of artificial intelligence by developing content, methods and tools for teaching cybersecure thinking to children and young people of pre-primary and primary school age who represent the AI generation.

The Generation AI project has identified the following challenges brought about by artificial intelligence that affect the living environment of children and young people at this time: a) the weakening of the sense of security, control and free will in a data-driven society; b) the erosion of trust in authorities, media, science, civil society and citizens; and c) rapidly growing inequality related to the constantly changing mastery and agency of information and communication technology.

In this webinar, we will present the recently launched Generation AI project, its goals and in particular how the project will support Finnish teachers and students in their journey with rapidly developing artificial intelligence. https://generation-ai-stn.fi/ https://itk-konferenssi.fi/webinaarit #ITK2023
