Accessibility Statement

General

This is the accessibility statement for the Generation AI project. The website www.generation-ai-stn.fi is subject to the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires public online services to be accessible. This statement concerns the website www.generation-ai-stn.fi. It was originally prepared on 28 August 2023 and updated on 20 March 2026 based on a manual WCAG 2.1 AA audit, implemented accessibility fixes, and automated regression testing with Playwright and axe-core.

Status of the digital service's accessibility

The digital service is fully compliant with WCAG 2.1 level AA requirements. A manual audit carried out in March 2026 identified issues that have since been fixed. After the fixes, the site was covered with automated Playwright + axe-core WCAG 2.1 AA regression tests.

The latest automated test run was carried out on 20 March 2026. It covered 11 representative pages across the Finnish, English and Swedish sections of the site, including the home page, key main navigation sections, material pages, and publication and document layouts. The test run did not detect any WCAG 2.1 level A or AA issues.

On the same day, a separate styling regression was identified where links styled as buttons could inherit an incorrect text color on hover from the shared link styles. This was visible, for example, on the /materiaalit/ page as green text on a green button background. The issue was fixed by locking hover text colors to the button classes across the site, and dedicated Playwright regression tests were added to verify both default and hover-state colors and contrast on the materials page and key top-level pages.

In addition, the desktop About the project mega menu was fixed so that it always stays within the visible browser viewport, including near the right edge of the screen. A dedicated Playwright regression test was added for this behavior as well.

Assessment methods

The accessibility of the service has been assessed by manual code review and by automated browser-based testing using Playwright and axe-core. Separate regression checks are also used for button links on the materials page, hover-state contrast on key pages, and for the desktop mega menu position within the viewport.
