The interview fits well with our project's theme, as we develop content, methods, and applications through which these civic skills are taught to primary school students, teachers, and teacher students.

There are currently many expectations placed on artificial intelligence and its possibilities, ranging from improving healthcare to even mitigating the climate crisis.
At the same time, dystopian visions familiar from science fiction films are emerging: could AI become uncontrollable?
– The next couple of years will show what AI can do and what systems it can be integrated into, says cognitive science university lecturer and philosopher Anna-Mari Rusanen from the University of Helsinki.
As AI becomes more widespread, numerous ethical questions arise. Rusanen works at the Ministry of Finance as a specialist in ethical and social impacts related to AI.
– The concern behind the hype is that we don't end up automating everything. And at the same time, we don't notice that we're bringing with it an ideology that we don't really want, Rusanen says.
