Generation AI builds the foundation for technology education fit for the AI generation. The project operates across four mutually reinforcing areas: scientific research, free application development, direct school collaboration, and broad stakeholder and policy engagement.
Four areas of activity
The project's work is organised around four interconnected strands.
Scientific research
The project produces high-quality research on AI education, children's rights in algorithmic environments, cybersecurity and digital inequality. Results are published at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.

Six free applications have been developed that allow children and young people to explore how AI works in practice — no coding skills required. Each app comes with ready-made teaching materials.
Explore the applications →School collaboration and training
The project pilots applications and methods in partner schools across Finland. Researchers also run teacher training sessions, webinars and present at national and international events.
For teachers →Stakeholder engagement and policy influence
The project collaborates with government ministries, municipalities, international research networks and the media. The goal is to raise the profile of AI education in education policy and public debate.
Stakeholder engagement and training events
The table below lists the project's presentations, training sessions and collaboration events across networks, municipalities, ministries and schools.
